    In keeping with our commitment to give back to the community, MFS&S and friends constructed the first annual Susan G. Komen Survivors Quilt.

    Each individual square was constructed by either a cancer survivor or MFS&S. The individual squares were assembled and then then long arm quilted courtesy of SEW WHAT of Williamsville, NY.

    The quilt was unveiled at the Fourth Annual Cancer Survivors luncheon, held at the Statler Towers Grand Ballroom on May 7, 2005. As you can see, the quilt was exquisite. The quilt will then be displayed in and around the Western New York area as a testament to breast cancer survivors

    Mickey Mouse was the special visitor at Main Factory Sales & Service's booth at the Buffalo Home & Garden Show, Feb.. 27, 2005.

    Mickey was so excited to hear Main Factory was named the exclusive Brother International Sales and Service Dealership for Western New York, he just HAD to visit.

    Brother International embroidery machines have the exclusive licensing for the Disney family of Characters, including Mickey.

    As you can see Mickey created QUITE a stir by his surprise!

    PUTTING OLD MACHINES TO GOOD USE

  • Main Factory collects old, usable sewing machines for use by those who could put them to good use. The donated machines are overhauled and repaired at no charge and then donated.

  • The Sisters of St. Francis of Holy Name Province at Stella Niagara NY send truckloads of valuable goods several time a year to Chiapias, Mexico.

    Main Factory Sales & Service collects and repairs old sewing machines and cabinets. They are used for skill training in Chiapias to teach marketable skills. On the last shipment, with the help of our good customers, provided 37 machines and cabinets to the Sisters.

  • Sister Jopha, of the Sisters of Mercy, is a hospital administrator in the northern Philippines. Sister Jopha is teaching a group of 12 women to sew in her spare time. These women previously had been sharing one antiquated treadle sewing machine. The money they are earning sewing is being used for supplies to build each of them and their families a home. Thus far MFS&S has collected and restored 3 sewing machines and a serger for the long trip to the Philippines with Sister Jopha

     

    SEWING IN THE PHILIPPINES

     

  • The Sisters of Mercy, in affiliation with Catholic Charities of Buffalo, New York, teach sewing at an inner city housing project called the Perry Projects. Participants in the sewing program of Sister Norma Wind receive a sewing machine that was collected from customers and donated upon completion of the program. They learn to sew, and also learn a marketable skill thanks to Sister Norma.
